Les Automates Jaquet-Droz
Schuyler Tsuda A quartet for a pair of scoratura cellos and violas, this piece mimics the animation of mechanical dolls built between 1768 and 1774. This is a performance in from the summer of 2008, after working with the composer.

Sept Papillons for Solo Cello
Kaija Saariaho I’ve posted the second and sixth movements, or “butterflies” of Saariaho’s Sept Papillons. These were recorded in 2008 after working with Anssi Karttunen, the cellist for whom the piece was written. I was also lucky to play some butterflies for the composer.
